I would do all bolt-ons first. Is it an m6 or a4? Converter? And to answer your question, there isn't a "best cam" out there.

I agree do full boltons first otherwise no matter what cam u choose it will not make max hp because your engine will be all choked up. But let us know what mods in the future you plan on doing. Also what qualities in the cam are you wanting. Lopey idle, smooth idle, reliability, power goals etc. If we more detailed info I'm sure we can get you in the right direction.

These threads suck. It looks like OP has been on here since July and hasn't even done 5 min of searching.

The best cam to buy is the one that best suits your needs/wants/goals.

You definitely need to head into the LS1 Internal Mods section and do some research. I had the same question and was referred to the "Cam" sticky in that section -- great place to start.

In short, you need to first figure out what your current and future needs and goals are (power, driveability, durability, etc.). We can then take that information to help you go down the right path. The recommendation we would make for a conservative daily driver would be DRASTICALLY different from the recommendation we would make for a weekend only track car. Other factors include: auto vs manual, other mods to come, budget, emissions requirements, power preference -- peak vs. under the curve power, etc.

By the time you go through this process you'll need to end up with a good basic understanding about what makes one cam different from another. Then you can end up picking the one that works best for you. If you'd prefer to skip to the "buy it now" option -- simply type all of these details in a custom cam spec sheet to Pat G, pay the fee and he'll send you his specific custom recommendation.

There is no such thing as the 'best cam'.. It all depends on what you want the car to do, and what your power goals are.

+1.
Basic bolt on's first. You gotta crawl before you walk.
