Engine flooded?
Engine flooded? I think i hydrolocked the motor. Last week we had alot of rainfall and as i trying to make it to work i had to drive through a small dip in the street, well that dip was getting all the water from both intersecting streets so it was deeper but didnt look that bad. Well the car made it half way before it began stalling out and just stopped completely.
Well at lunch time i came back to check it out, tried starting it and i just hear banging type sounds. So i quickly turned it off, popped the hood and saw my MAF line was popped out with water in the connection. The other air line that connects to the lid was popped off. Opened the lid and saw my air filter soaked with water. To me it dont even crank up or anything.
What do you guys think, is it hydrolocked?
Insurance came by this week and checked it out. They told my mom that we could take the car wherever we want to get it fixed but to find out what the problem is 1st. Of course my 1st thoughts are, it sucked in water and flooded the engine. So i think its done but idk exactly.

Take the plugs out and have someone rotate the motor and see if water comes out. Also change your oil just in case, obviously if water comes out of the plug holes you may be in some trouble.
also did any SES codes pop up? i had to drive through some water once (about as high as the bottom of the car) and the water got into the O2 sensors and killed them. the car sputtered and shut off. it ran super rich until the next day when they dried out
Well when i 1st attempted to start it. It struggled to turn over and when it finally got any kind of power, it sounded like crap just banging together. Best way to put it would be like grabbing a hammer and just start bashing the hell out of something metal. Sounded nasty like that so I quickly shut it off after that and havent really bothered with it since.
When i loaded it up on the trailer, i had water come out the exhaust. CME exhaust setup but i figure maybe it was just the water coming in from the rear of the car when it stalled out. Ill do what you guys suggested though.
