To far of a drive?
I'm planning a cam/stall install this spring. The only problem though is that the closest tuner, Speed Inc. , is about 180 miles away. Would that be too far of a drive on a untuned cammed and stalled car? Or do I have nothing to worry about?

Idling in gear is going to be tough with the low stock idle speed and a 224 cam + a stall on a stock tune. Back in the days before comprehensive tuning was common we would have to crack open the TB blade or enlarge the TB hole to get cams that size to idle decent with an A4 and stock tuning.
Once you get rolling down the highway it shouldn't be too bad, except for the fact that the TCC probably won't lock due to cam related random misfires. Mine never locked up properly with the stock tuning and even a small 221 cam.

As long as you drive easy, you will be able to limp it there. It will teach you real quick how to keep an untuned car alive!
I have had buddies swear they couldn't get a car to idle to check for leaks/etc after a build.. I jump in the driver seat and within 20 seconds have it idling for 5 minutes.
