Default speedometer conversion

I am in the process of swapping a LS1 2004 GTO into my '69 Chevelle with a 4L60e transmission. I'd like to keep the original speedo, so I'm looking to add an electronic to mechanical converter. There seems to be two "reasonably" priced converters out there: Abbott's cable-x and Dakota Digital's Electronic Cable Drive Speedometer Control Unit (ECD-100). I'd like to start a discussion as to the pros and cons of each of these units. Which is better and why?

I don't know about the Dakota but the Cable X seems finicky to me. You have to mount it somewhere so that the cable is nearly straight and it still sometimes causes the needle on the gauge to bounce.

After reviewing all the options I opted for the Dakota VHX gauge cluster. It's an expensive option but I would not hesitate to do it again and again. They are one of my favorite things about the car now.
