skip shift quick question! (ws6 2002) newbie <-- to eliminate the skip shift in my 02 trans am, could I basically just unplug the sensor that is in the transmission, tape it off for debris entry, and call it good? or do I need to have a special skip shift eliminator from a professional store?
either way, what does the solenoid even do that I would unplug from the trans?

I would think unplugging it may trigger a check engine light. The eliminators are readily available and very easy to install. Some guys have even made their own with an inline resistor.

Yea, I can buy an eliminator, or a 2200ohm resister to fix it, but I was just curious on what the plug in did, or what happened if you just simply unplugged it?
