Will any year 4th gen rear fit any other year?
Will any year 4th gen rear fit any other year?
I'm trying to find one to fit a 99 and I found a good deal on a 95. Besides looking for 3 or 4 channel based on traction control, is there anything else I should be aware of? I know I need to match gears as close as possible (this V6 came with 3.08 and the one I found has 3.23 -- close enough)

brake system is different on 93-97. Those years used in caliper e-brakes. Also the 4 channels had a different tooth count on reluctor rings

Additionally, limited slip (posi) was not standard on V6 models like it was for the V8s, so this is something to consider if you want to retain (or not) an LSD. Also, '99+ used a Torsen LSD vs. '98-and-earlier using an Auburn LSD, and this matters in terms of gear lube selection. The only caveat here is that SLP cars (Firehawk, SS) did have optional LSDs that were not consistent with the base offering of the same model year (such as SLP offering a Torsen when the Auburn was standard in the earlier years, and offering an Auburn when Torsen became standard in the later years).
