Default Question For the LSX - Pros

Okay I have a friend who is curious about the LS1 and LS2 engines.

I know there is a displacement diference between the two motors. Can you put LS2 valve train or Crank in an LS1? How about LS2 heads on an LS1? So what is interchangable between the 2 motors.

Thanks

Interesting.

So the only thing that is different about the motor is the piston size. So I can easily make my LS1 into an LS2 motor, Just by boring out the cylinders, and put the LS2 head, crank, rods and pistons into the old LS1 block.

The block itself is different, given you can get the same displacement etc. but it still wont' be an LS2. LS2 heads are LS6 heads, same thing. Search button has everything you can need on the LS2, check out the LS2/LS7 section too.
