How do you check a VIN # for a pre-1981 car? I'm looking at a 69 Camaro and just want to know more about it. Any help would be appreciated.

That was before the time of Carfax. There are decoders all over the Internet to tell you what each VIn number means but if your trying to find out if it is a clean title the best thing to do is stop by your local police department and they can see if there are any outstanding issues with the VIN. Other than that there is no real way to tell if the vehicle was a flood or damaged really bad etc...

You will have better luck decoding the body tag than the vin on an older car
just do a google
