I know you drive one, but have you ever seen a CTS-V driving down the road? They look incredible! I'd keep it! Caddy>Chevy (even though they are both GM).

Head over to the truck forum and you will find out that many people are exploding the sun shells out of their transmissions. A lot of them very close to stock.

If you still want an SS don't plan on putting your foot on the floor.

95% of the people blowing up trannys have Awd, i plan on getting a 2wd which the trannys tend to hold up fairly well

and besides you cant put the caddy to the floor or dump the clutch with out praying not to break the rear in half

IMO the TBSS is ultimate daily driver, but I am a little bias ;)

I love the CTS-V's, even considered getting one when I bought my TBSS. But the TBSS just offers so much more in the way of utility, combined with the fun factor of a near 400hp SUV :D

GXPPOWER 01-06-2007 07:05 PM

those tb SS are running low 13's stock. the rwd versions anyhow. the awd seem to be alittle slower.

but dont call it the ultimate daily driver. it is the Worst DD. DD adds in getting somewhat good gasmileage those things are crap for mileage

They have a slightly modded version of the 4L60E tranny and much more weight. It is just my opinion that moddifing them is just asking for it. Add sticky tires and some more horses and I think you will see similar problems.

I don't think it has been on market long enough for any proof that GM needs to act on it but it is a distressing foreshadow.

Keep the V! I bought a 89 1 ton GMC with 80,000 miles on it for 3400 bucks. I drive it everyday.

I like the TBSS like nobody's business, but I also have a lot of respect for the CTS-v. You may want to test the waters and try selling it privately, as caddy's (as well as all gm products) depreciation rate sucks. The dealer will really put one over you at trade-in time, but the only advantage with that is that you will get rid of a car quicker, and hopefully pick up the car that you will like better.

I vote for buying a beater truck. But i really think you just want something new.

Depends on what you want. I test drove a CTS-V and loved it, but honestly I liked the 06 GTO I test drove better. But the reality is I need a vehicle for the winters here in MN and a tow vehicle for my TA. The So enter the TB SS. I really enjoy driving it and it puts a smile on my face every time I drive it. It's fast, handles and brakes excellent. I have no regrets buying it. 12K miles with zero problems. Plus at the time I bought it, the price new was cheaper than V's were used.

schiccc 01-12-2007 09:14 AM

i vote the tb ss because i own one of course.ive driven the ctsv a couple of times and they are nice but the tb ss is more practical

99Z28LS1 03-05-2007 05:58 PM

i like your car but im in luv with the TB SS, my buddy has a black SS and its simply amazing, but i havent ridden in a CTS-V so i dont know. im basing my opinion on what i've experienced

Genesis_26317 03-06-2007 10:13 PM

SUV's suck.

No way in hell your gonna hit 9's in one of those!!!

BaddillaK 03-08-2007 09:36 PM

good luck hittin 9's in a V without killing the cadillac ride and whatnot (need a solid rear)... and besides im not really worried about 9's im just going for decent get up and some towing ability.....
