Default Help!!! What is my Motor Out of?

where can i find a vin# etc. too make sure what my motor came out of? i Know its a 2002 or 2003 but is there anywhere the vin# would be? I tried looking at the ecu but the# is not the vin it only has 16 numbers and vin#s have 17#s Thanks in Advance!

You're not making any sense to me??? Do you need me to run the VIN from a car and tell you what engine it has in it or what's the deal? I work for GM and I can help you out...but I'm not understanding exactly what you want? Just PM me and I'll help you out.

I bought a 72 Chevelle with a Ls1& 4l60e in it....I want too know what the motor is out of...I have found out it is an 02+ model and thats it the#s on the ecu are not the vin#s so I cant pull a carfax too find out what it is out of.

You could look at the head number or intake number to see if it's 01+.

Could of been a crate motor = it was out of a factory not a car..then was peiced together after that..
