What Mods first

What Mods first Have an 01' Z28. Made 294 hp, 308 tq to the wheels. It is stocl w/k&N and a 2.73 gear. Car would pull slowly after 5500 RPM on the dyno. Trying to see what mods I should do first.
Exhaust. Either Pacesetter coated long tubes & Y, or that new stainless set in the exhaust forum.
Converter - Vig 3600.
Gear - 2.73 or 3.55
My goal is eventually 12.0's
It's either go faster, or look better. My other choice is to stay stock and get some 18" Chrome c6's with a drop and an SS hood. My car is white with the ground effects.
I'm hoping you guys can help because I cannot decide.
