is this not totally bogus? it says somewhere that it was a 2000 that showcased the upcoming 2002 options, but i'm pretty sure i see a EGR pump on there.....i think SLP built just a couple more than 8 SS's

someone PLEASE correct me if i just made an *** of myself....

EDIT: i just notcied the letter from SLP on there.....but STILL, what's the big deal? i wasn't aware of these 8 cars, nor do i see any signifigance in them. i noticed it has CME, what year was that introduced, or was it always available?

IT basically just a z28 that gm sent to slp to convert to an SS instead of gm doing it. some of the 97 formula WS6's were done by slp also. along with probably some other cars other then fire hawks.

All SS were converted by SLP. And half of the Ws6's were done by SLP and the other half by someother company (forgot their name)

ASCD. American Sports Car Design. the majority of SS's were converted at SLP somewehre in Canada.

i was aware that all SS are converted from SLP but the 8 were the special ones shown in there correct?

Yes this is a rare car.Kinda a test mule for SLP. Its a 2000 SS but has the Chrome 10 spokes which weren't available until to 2001,also the CME (center mount exhaust) which wasn't available until late 01. Also it says the car was converted in Troy Michigan. Where there was a small SLP HQ. All other SS's were converted by SLP engineering located in Canada

95FbFormula,

Every single 96-97 WS6 was converted by SLP. It wasn't until 98 they were converted by ASC. SLP also did the Comp TA's in 95-96 and every SS from 96-02

This SS should be a little more "special" than other 2000's. I would love to have a signed letter about my car from Ed Hamberger (sp) the founder of SLP.

All 2000 had 10 spokes, and the CME was only a 2002 option.

That door code on it has the Y2Y option, and that means it was sent to SLP and they optioned it more then hood/wing (and misc). The WU8 code means it was optioned as an SS model.

The 2000 year cars still had EGR.

ASCD is a fiberglass hood business.

ASC converted all the WS6's with the hood manufactured by SLP. The facility was 20 minutes away from the St. Therese Plant.

so did mine. ZR-1's were a SLP option (according to my door sticker). obviously cars without that option would have the 10 spokes.....i think

All the 2000's had 10 spokes but it wasn't until 01 the Chrome 10 spokes. Chrome in 2000 was the chrome ZR1's I believe
