Default Not sure what i should do, HELP!!!

So Here is the deal. I own a 2005 Dodge ram 1500 It's the limited addition Rumble bee, it has 35,000 I love it but i hate the gas prices. IT takes $80.00 to fill it up and i get 14 mpg. I am 22 married and have a 1 year old. My wife has a saturn vue. so i don't necessary need a family car. I paid 34,000 for my truck and the mods i have done are custom ram air hood, made by the guys that made the original rumble bee for dodge it is the hood that was suppose to be on all rumble bee's He only made 16 and i have number 3 with a cirtificate also i have a hard taunnea cover, dual magnaflow exuast 2 7 inch tv's in the sun visor's and a hyperpack programmer. it's realy fast but i am wanting something new. well new to me. I have been looking for abot 3 months and i seen a 2001 trans am WS6 that a dealer has he also has a 2000 ws6.

THe 01 has 34000 miles and is super clean, he said he would give me the t/A and 2100 for my truck.
THe 2000 has 90,000 miles and he would give me 6000 and the T/A for the truck.

The only problem is would my 1 year olds car seat fit in the back. and is it worth it in the long run to trade my 05 truck for an 01 car.

The stealerships are wanting to give me 19,000 for my truck. I was willing to sell it myself on ebay or something but there selling for $16,000 with ones with 12,000 mile on them. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

trade it for the 2000 and use the additional 6 thousand for either a new engine or a rebuild of that one, but built the way you like it, possibly a storker kit?

or you could get 19 from the stealership and find the cheapest T/A out there with perfect body and use same idea as above

I'd go for the '01 myself, way lower miles and it's a slightly newer car and it saves you money from not having to add an LS6 intake.

The price difference is only 3.9K between the two for a car with 56,000 less miles than the '00, you'd be money ahead in the long run with the '01 IMO. If your thinking that you can just build another engine with the 3.9K saved from getting the '00 remember that everything else is likely worn as well.

I dont see how you can really feel like you will come out ahead in either of those deals. Even though thats some crazy gas guzzling you have going on.

why would you trade a low mileage truck for a 90k ls1? thats just rediculous. That car is worth like 8k-10k + 6k cash = 16k for your truck.. you paid $34,000 + mods and there's no way it depreciated half.

so then you look at the other option. an 01 ws6 35k in excellent condition is gonna run around $18-20,000+ usually in most areas I'd think.. So if they give you the trans am plus a couple grand I'd still feel i was getting warmer but not quite equal monetarily.

Then again I'm not sure what your truck is worth in trade black book, etc.....

In the kbb it says for dealer trade would be 18,500 and if i sell my self it would be 23,500. But no dealer wants to give me cash they want me to trade them for something, but no dealers around here have anything that i want. IF they buy it out right they will give me 16,000. Which is retaded since i paid double that in feb of 2005.

Can i fit a Car seat in a T/A or a GTO

You can do better than the prices you have listed so far; at least in a good portion of the CONUS. Be patient.

Avoid both of these deals, you are getting raped. You are basically giving away your truck for a realistic 6 or 7 mpg improvement, and you can kiss that goodbye if you mod. You would have to drive that Trans Am for the next 100 years to earn back the $ you are tossing out the door by getting a car with only that much better mileage. You can buy a LOT of gas for the thousands and thousands of dollars you will be giving away. You say you like the truck, so bite the bullet and drive it, or sell it, but don't be under the misconception that this is going to "save you money". That logic only works if you've already chaulked up everything you paid for the truck and put into it as already being flushed down the crapper.

I feel your pain. I have my car and an 06 Hemi Ram quad cab.

As far as the 2 deals you proposed I would stay away from the second one for sure and the first really doesn't sound all that great either. Sell your truck outright and then turn around and buy the car you want cash money. How much do you owe on the truck?

I owe nothing on my truck, i paid cash for it at the dealer. I know i wouldn't gain that much in gas mileage but at 3.15 a gallon anything can help. But i figure unless i find an unbeilievable deal the truck is going to stay. I have always liked the TA, But i am not going to just throw away all my money on in impulse buy.

THe Bad news. Now that i started looking, The wife has found something she likes. I think she is trying to steal my thunder.
