haha. yes the same car. i think anything over $9,500 Allstate (the dudes insurance that hit me) would have rendered it totaled. at least thats what the body shop guy told me. im just glad to know im getting it back.

just be extremely critical and make sure everything is done to your satisfaction. just my .02

Yeah, that wreck looks pretty horrible! I honestly don't think the car can ever be repaired 100% after that kind of damage...

i know. i wont consider taking it back unless it was better than before. but it will be sort of nice to have a brand new body.

i know, i saw the pictures the next morning after it happened and then proceded to projectile vomit for the next 10 minutes. it was no good.

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone.

ps. i got all my x-rays back and everything looked good.

they usually total it out if it 65% of the total of the car. that should have been a total. that crinkle in the side quarter panel leading to the door is going to be immpossible to get perfectly straight again, i foresee problem with leaking windows and T-tops. hopefully im wrong, glad your happy with it, and good luck. make sure they do the work at a reputable place. mine looked about as bad and they totalled it and gave me almost $22000.

id get a second opinion.

here was mine

id get a second opinion too. that cars it really messed up. nothing will ever fit right. there bent and twisted parts underneath the car that you can see. first thing i thought when i saw those pictures is that car is defanatly totaled.

Everyone is giving you the best advice... Just let it go, and see if you can get that thing totaled... You do not want a car that has been that foobar'd.... Sure sure memories... I had my first T/A for 2 days before it was stolen/wrecked... I got the insurance money, a week later had a better one/less miles etc...

And they're going to repair it with non OEM parts... just get out of repairing it if you can, you really don't want it...

Wow, I'm also supprised it's not totaled. I was talking to a good friend of mine at the body shop next door. He said they'll total anything that has damage totaling up to 75% of the cars value.

They just repaired an 07 Lexus RX350. They had a 22k quote on it but by the time they got the car finished the repair ended up costing 27k and some change That RX looked alot worse than your car.

Just make sure it goes to a great shop, if you know anyone in the business get they're recomidation(sp?). In body repair the amount of hacks out there vastly dwarfs the amount of hacks in the auto repair business.

My buddy just got his 2004 (i think) chevrolet silverado SS fixed there. It looked like it was totaled, the front end was SMASHED and alot of other things wrong. i saw it a few days ago it looked like nothing ever happend to it. rode in it, drove it. it actually drove better ( in my opinion) than before.

Good Luck. Those rear quarters are structural. I figured it would be totalled.
