Hard call.... I like the C6.... but I miss the pop-up headlights from the C5.
I LOVE the way the C6 doors open. I've been to the Autoshow for two years now.... you would be suprised how many people can't figue out how to open the doors!!!!

Where did they get those images and info from? I would guess it is mostly bogus. Isn't Winding Road the guys that just went through a lot of **** for posting bogus made up "spy" photos of the new ZR1 (Blue Devil) Corvette everywhere for publicity?
Anyways, a mid engine 'vette isn't a new idea, the designers at GM have been working on mid engine 'vettes for more years than most of the readers on this board have been alive. Look up info on the CERV 'vette.
Isn't 50/50 the "best" weight distribution. So how could a 50/50 front engine car have less weight on the rear tires than a 50/50 rear engine car. The new 'vettes are pretty balanced.
The Z06 C6 is a supercar so it already carries the Corvette name.

I like this quote from the article. "If there was a good reason to make it mid-engine, it would have already been done." I think the red one looked fine, the rear end of the yellow one, not so much.

We won't know what it really looks like until it actually shows up as an official concept from GM. That's just someone's interpretation of what they think it could look like. Its definitely not a GM concept.

GM has never really messed up the vette...expect for those shitty cross fires, and those late 70s vettes remind me of a rattle box...
So im pretty sure its going to look nice like the rest of them, looking good and faster

I agree with the people that say the vette should stay a front engine/rear drive car. It has always been that way and always should be. Now if they were to make a mid engine/rear drive car, I think the Fiero name would fit it well, rest aside that the car was a POS that was prone to catch fire. The Fiero name would side good with a nice looking/fast car.

Thats what I was thinking too.
I'm not keen on that at all. I've never been keen on the C6, it looks too cheap looking with the non-popup lights. When i first saw it, it looks jap like. Looking through that article I prefer the C6 over the C7.
Also it looks like it has an air intake behind the door window, if this isn't cooling the engine (which I believe its still front engine) then whats the idea? surely it will make the aerodynamics bad.
I'm sure by the time it comes out other cars will look similar so it wont look as bad as it does now.
It almost seems like all car manufacturers are using the same software, so many cars now seem to have a crease down the middle as if the car was drawn in half and the flipped it to make the other side and not smoothed the join. Looks like a bug to me, but so many production cars have that annoying join right over the hood to the rear bumper.

Most of you need a good dose of tollerance.
GM's vette engineering is the future of performance cars. It is also the play ground for new materials and methods. There will be change!
Imagine a mid engine ceramic block that weighs 80 pounds and makes 600 horsepower. An all up car weight of 2000 pounds. You can go to the local dealership and order your's for 60K in the color you want. It is delivered in two weeks. Thats what I'm talkin about!
Future vettes will rock.

I like more the red version than the yellow, the red looks more appropriate in relation to the evolution of a C6. The yellow borrows too many elements from an exotic car such as Ferrari or Lambourghini.
