If I'm not mistaken skip-shift locks out 2nd and 3rd if you don't reach a certain RPM before shifting. Making you go to fourth, but I honestly have no reason why its on our cars....other than to save fuel. I have a skip shift eliminator on my car.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Yep, saves on gas usage and thus helps with emissions.

Yep skipshift simply locks you out of gear. It's for "gas savings" and to **** you off.

I think it comes on at 1800RPM, under a certain % of throttle. I think it goes off around 2600? Just rough esitmates though.

It was really annoying. Here's how I got rid of it. Cost me 40 cents and 15 minutes of my life to jack the car up and ziptie it to a neighbor wire. http://www.installuniversity.com/ins...adio_shack.htm

It locks you out of 2nd, making you go to 4th, for gas reasons. It only turns on if you're going light on the gas and try to shift when the "skip shift" light comes on.

Default It's the Devil

It's the first mod you should probably do to your car if you have a M6. Some people use the resistor, I just found a plug and play from the Internet for about $15.

Some people hate the idea. I love it because it's so easy to get rid of.

Of course another way to get rid of it is by mashing the go-pedal hard everytime you take off.

Yup. The first thing I did was get rid of it. It can make you look like a real dumbass pulling off from a redlight.
