Default Pacesetter Header question?

My buddy has an LS2 GTO and has pacesetter LT headers and they melted a hole in is boot on his rack and pinion. I was curious if anyone has had this problem on a 02 camaro? I was wanting to get Pacesetters but I dont want them if they do that.
