Lq9

I did. I like it alot, I wanted to mill my 317 heads down and use them But I used my original 806s. LS6 intake, 228/230 cam, LS7 lifters. And I was lucky that I had qa1 adjustables up front. Now either they were too soft to begin with but I had to raise my front about an inch which wasnt a problem.
make sure you get 6.0 head gaskets.
I don't know what else to tell you. but I do like it alot. and its differrent and unique.. everybody asks does it have the 350. Uhhh Nope 6.0,

me too!!
I also bought a LQ9 to replace my LS1 for my INCON TT setup everythings the same but the weight!I had a set of ported dual spring stainless valves put in and will be useing my LS intake.I did the swap just because of the LQ9 s strenth as compared to the ls1 and obviasly the 4 inch bore and the bigger cubes is a bonus and was cheaper then buying a ls1 block,I think I got mine for like $780 from my buddy who works as a parts guy at GM.

I bought a shortblock LQ9 with the 317 heads for $700. with 9,000 miles on it. Havent had the time since i got it done in july to take ti to a dyno. there is another member on here mvvette97 that has all the same mods (same cam, heads, intake, valve springs, everything) he has bigger injectors and I have a 6.0 being the only difference. And with the realtime tuning software he had told him 430-440hp. can't remember the tourqe.
I used all my previous mods from my ls1 on this engine. but I did have to buy head gaskets around $90 new gm bolts $130 new intake seals(mine were just crap but you will prolly be ok) waterpump gaskets, coolant, engine oil and that was really all I needed for the swap.
prices are from what I could remember..

I have a Lq9 that I built with ls1 one crank ( suppoused to be lighter than the truck crank.
Other than that everything in the shortblock from the clearances to deck height is stock, although I did add arp rod bolts and the T-rex.
upper end of the motor includes fast 90/90 and terminator heads and all other bolt-ons you can think of.
I have not had it dynoed yet, but it is a hell of lot more impressive than any ls1 i ever had.
