Replace 1 rear tire with new..diff problem?
dont see that happening, so **** em.
p.s.you have more diff wear with innapropriate tire inflation than tread depth..

I have an un-repairable flat rear tire. Tire shop says I cannot replace just 1 rear tire, because the different size between new and half worn will "burn up" my rear differential, due to different wheel speed.
Obviously, I could just put the new tire on the front and it won't matter.
But, I think 2 slightly different sized rear tires is fine with the diff. What's the answer?
Thanks.
If you use another size tire (i.e. 275/55-17), it WILL play hell on your ABS system, it will read the rotation as the tires slipping.
The only time you are supposed to change all 4 tires at the same time is on AWD vehicles, and I still can not understand that entire concept.
