Rear end ????? When guys are talking about 3 or 4 channel rear ends what are they talking about? Is it simply one was from an A4 and the other an M6? Will they interchange? Will the gears interchange? My car is an 2002 Z-28 with an A4 2:73 gears. I want to put 3:42 gears in it what kind will I need and what are the best?

A 3 channel is a abs car w/o traction control, and a 4 channel has T/C... 3:73s are a good gear for an A4 and id say Richmond or GM gears would be good.. if you plan on doing magor mods it would be best to just buy a 12 bolt or nine inch.. 10 bolts are week, ive broke two
But, doesn't 2.73 cars have a 2 series carrier. I am pretty sure cars with stock 3.23 and numerically higher gears have a 3 series carrier. Cars with factory 2.73s should have 2 series carriers. You can still find gears for your car, they are a bit more expensive. But be happy, they will be thicker than a 3 series gear.
