Default A little help.. Headlight Problem

I didn't know where to post this..
Okay to start... My passangers headlight kept getting wedged under my hood everytime I needed it to come up, so I popped the hood and noticed the little things that held it in place are BROKEN...So I asked my dad for some help and we replaced them, but somewhere in the process something happened and now EVERYTIME You set/unset the alarm the headlights flip up with it.. And the headlight I was trying to fix, the motor is making noise going down, but not going up.. oh oh and also when you get into the car without using the little buttons on the keys the alarm starts to go off and the lights will move up and down with the honks...

Oh and there isn't any wires that got pinched or anything...

Any ideas?

If the sound when closing sounds like a gear grinding you need to replace the gear in the motor or just the whole light motor. The gears in the light motot are plastic and go bad over time. I found a guy who sells brass gears and just replaced them. I did this to both of my headlights the passenger sine was the only one that was making noise but I did both. When mine was having issues it also opened and closed when I hit the button on my remote, hear is site I used to replace the gears.

I just had the same thing happen to mine.. replaced headlight motor. problem solved. Be careful when taking off the crank lever. i bent mine and it wouldnt go back on right.. so i bought a new one.. you should be able to get a new motor from autozone for 75. and they have a lifetime warranty.. so as long as you keep the receipt and your car.. if it goes bad again you get a new one for free.

I had the same thing happen to my TA replaced the motor and no more grinding. And if you do get it from Auto Zone you should not need your receipt as all warranty items are entered into their computer system by your phone number

its not really the grinding I'm worried about. I'm worried about the fact that everytime you set/unset the alarm the headlights go on and off.
ABQ99TA thanks for the site, I'm going to try to see if that works..
