Default Ticking?

Today I noticed my Formula in my sig making a ticking noise. I noticed it more at idle, and cruising more than when accelerating or in the gas. Thought it might be an exhaust leak, but when I put the car under load the tick seemed to go away.

Popped the hood, checked the oil (oil level was fine), fired it up, and the ticking definatly seemed to come from under the hood, and I am guessing from the valvetrain.

Top end mods in sig were done a few months ago, and have had no running problems with the car, although it is a higher mileage LS1 (103,000 miles and counting).

Along with the MS3, and stage 2.5 5.3l heads, I did new lifters, pushrods, springs ect.

Any ideas on what it could be?

Check to see if all your spark plugs are tight.

As long as you have good oil pressure, no power loss, and the car runs fine I would worry about it (maybe take it easy on it for awhile). These engines are noisy as hell at times.

I once had that and all I ended up doing is re-tightening my header bolts. Since then no more ticking.

I'm getting it looked at by my buddy who did the motor work to it today. I'll let everyone know what it was.

I am thinking one of the rocker arms might be loose or something.

Looks like it was one the the bearings on one of the rockers that failed. It will soon be opened up and replaced for further inspection.

It was a broken rocker bearing. The rocker arm and bearing were replaced, and the car run fine now with no noises, and no problems.

That depends. If you're like me and usually break 2 more things in the process of trying to fix 1, its enough of a PITA to let someone else do it. Fortunate enough for me, my buddy had it fixed for me in a few hours with some parts he had lying around his place.
