Default Couple of problems/questions...

Okay first off, my left and right turn signals keep going out. I bought new bulbs literally last week so I know its not time for a new one. They flash when I press the lock button on my keychain but they will not flash when using the signal in the car. I noticed that the sockets look a good bit rusted....is this something I can just spray some WD40 in or something or do I need to replace the sockets altogether? I did use bulb grease when putting them in last week, but it looks like it was literally burned away or something and is just rust now.

Secondly, I had my oil changed about 1-2 months ago at a "pro-performance" shop (I've got no tools up at college which is why I didnt do it myself in case something went wrong changing the filter) and I actually noticed last weekend that they didn't even put the dipstick back in.

Needlesstosay, my experience at the shop didn't go well to begin with since one of the employees said it would only cost me "10-20 bucks" to change out the oil since I already had 6quarts and a filter, then I was charged $40 for the whole damn thing by another guy who "couldn't possibly charge me less than $40 for putting the car up on his lift and the hard labor of using an employee". So in my eyes, waltzing back into the shop a month or so after I had my oil changed and demanding my dipstick back would probably get me nothing but a couple of laughs, snickers, and a boot out the door.

So I want to know -- Have I been injuring my car by not having one in? Is this something I can go to AutoZone and purchase or must I do it online?

Kthxbye,
Bones the Newb

I your emergency flashers make the turn signal bulbs flash then your problem isn't the bulbs it is the switch in the column..As for the dipstick surely someone on here has one they will sell you if not it is most likely a dealer item. In my opinion it will let in dirt and water so I would put some tape over the end of the tube till I got another one to install in it.

Without a doubt the sockets. I JUST replaced mine 2-3 days ago. There's a good write up on another forum about it and doing the actual socket replacement. Check your lense housings for cracks as well...
