Default Coil packs

Is there a way to test a coil pack and see if its going out? I bought plugs and wires and want to see if i need to replace my coil packs

I'd like to know this too. I had one that was giving me errors, so I swapped it out with my other LS1 and the problem went away, so I am pretty sure that it is bad. I would like to measure it, to confirm it (and confirm it wasn't a bad/dirty connection)

Well I could be wrong, but essentially every coil pack is a transformer. so two leads should be a primary inductor/coil and two leads should be the secondary inductor/coil.

If you knew which leads were which, you could place an ohm meter across the inductor to see if there is an open (coils read as shorts to DC) , other than that I don't really know what you could do.

Does Autzone have a contraption to test coils like they do alternators and batteries?

You can measure resistance of the primary and secondary ignition. I don't know the specs though but go across the harness part (primary) with an Ohmmeter, then go from the coil electrode to one of the harness pins for the secondary.
