Default Need Help Fast!!

Ok so I am racing tomorrow and I just tried to wire up another bottle heater to my existing one.......I am now running a dual bottle set up. Here is the problem. I have a HSW bottle heater, which is one that I have had on the car for quite sometime now....I just bought a Nitrous Outlet heater...just the ELEMENT ONLY, and I was going to splice it inline with what I curently am running. Now the HSW came with the complete wiring kit and everything. So therefore I was just going to splice the one wire with the hot, and the other with the ground.......easy enough. I go to turn my switch on to see if the bottle heaters BOTH work, and the freaking ground wire starts smoking and melting!!!!! WTF is going on here.....HELP.

Are you sure the wires are big enough to run both of them? Smaller wires can't handle all the amps.

I do have a smaller gnd wire then the rest.......that will cause that to happen? With the HSW kit it came with e 30amp inline fuse.....that did not blow during this little smoking session.....When I flip the switch it looks almost like the gnd wire may jump a little bit?? Like there may be some voltage going through it or something....I duno. I just thought I could splice them together, just add 2 wires to the circuit, one to the hot and the other to the gnd.....??

Absolutely - a smaller wire as more resistance since it can't let the amps flow through it properly. Even though there should be no voltage through a ground, there will certainly be amperage. If there is voltage in the ground then you don't have a good ground source. The BEST ground is directly to the negative battery cable.

Thanks you guys!!! It was the ground wire....it was to small....I put heavier gauge wire on it and it works like a charm!
