Pcv?

Pcv?
I installed my new cam about a month back, since then I've had a whistling noise on light accel around 2k rpm.
I checked my oil, and it was super low. Probably about 2 quarts in about 700 miles or so...
I pulled off my airbox and checked the back of the throttle plate, sure enough it's coated with oil. I think my best place to start is with a pcv valve. The GM dealership gave me a part number of 25043848... I was reading on here alot of people go to the 12572717?
Any thoughts are appreciated.
btw - I am running the ls6 manifold with the ls1 valley and the engine has 26k miles if that makes a difference.

The 12572717 part number is an orafice vice a valve. I would say that it is ok to use that since all of the newer PCV systems include the 2.5mm orafice in the valley cover. This leads me to beleive that you would not have to worry about it "going bad."
I would also do what Conan said and invest in a catch can.
