Just start the engine when its dead cold, with the radiator cap off. Top off the coolant with water or Dexcool (preferably water). Stand there until you see the coolant start to flow, which means the t-stat has opened up. As the coolant level goes down just top it off. Wait for the t-stat to close (flow will stop)....then do it one more time. Coolant system should be full after that. A 3rd time can't hurt.
