Default Oil Change Light

Ok, so sometimes after I change my oil, my car will be fine for a few days, and then randomly, the orange Oil Change light comes on when I first start the car. After a couple of minutes it goes away. Any reason why it does this? Its only been 2 weeks and 800 miles since I changed the oil with German Castrol 0w-30 and a K&N oil filter...Should I be worried about the light?

You need to reset the light manually, it does not know when you changed the oil. Turn the key on and hold the trip counter reset button for 12 seconds or so, that will reset the light.

It is also not a measure of how dirty your oil is or how many miles have passed between changes. It is a simple count of start cycles that attempts to predict when you should change your oil.
