It's probably VATS not recognizing the key pelet value. First thing I'd try is cleaning the key or try your spare if you have one. If that's not it the small wires on the ignition cyl might have broken. To get the light off you'll have to replace/repair it or just do a VATS bypass with a resistor matching your key at the connector under the dash.

it can also be ur alarm system as wellk B4 on my camaro the car used to stay on with the key out and if it stayed on long enough my security light will turn on and if i sticked the key back in and pretended that i started it, it would turn off so it can be most likely ur key but the dealer also told me it could be the alarms system as well get it checked
