Default Power Steering...

I'm having issues with my power steering. No whine from the pump, fluid looks great; just no power steering...

Would you bank on the pump?

Or do you think something is wrong with the rack...

The car was in an accident where it ran something over and f'ed up the alignment, IE I just got the car running so I might take it in for an alignment. Do you also think just the alignment could be messing with the power steering? Thanks for the time.

This happened to my friend chevrolet malibu V6 3100 series he did very excessive turning and when I took a look at it. When i pressed on the gas and was revving the engine the power steering would work but i took it back to my house and he was little low on fluid but i dont think ur alignment should be the problem if ur ur fluid is good try flushing the whole system if u can and pour new power steering fluid if it still does it, it most like is the rack

Seen quite a few pumps sheer the shaft off 7 cause this also. Take the belt of & see if the pulley has excessive play.
