when the transmission speed sensor goes out will it cause the transmission not to shift due to not being able to read the speed that the car is traveling? speedometer doesnt work now and i have to manually shift 1st and 2nd gear, its an a4

Sounds like it could possibly cause the trans not to shift. The computer tells the trans when to shift at what TP% you are at.

Ya I say change it so we can know for future problems like this.
