Default Headlight motor gears

Has anybody had any problems with the plastic gears sold on ebay? I bought one and put it in and it doesn't seem to be the right size and the headlight motor won't stay on it. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem with the ebay gears?

Yeah I ordered a metal gear to replace the plastic one I bought on ebay after I diagnosed that was the problem. I was wondering specifically if anyone had any problems with the ebay gears like i seem to be having. This is a brand new gear

just to give you the heads up, my drivers side had a metal gear for like two years no issues, all of a sudden it strips it. I get a replacement metal gear and it strips it in two days. I checked everything the drive housing, gear cover, the tabs that hold the cover on everything just wound up buying a new motor at Autozone with a lifetime warranty.

Damn, that sucks. . I'm really hoping it's just the gear, everything is tight like it's spposed to be. I'd rather not have to drop $100+ on a new motor

When mine did it the culprit was the housing for the motor housing had loosened and allowed the driving gear to rock away enough from the big gear to strip off the tips. Look on the bottom of the metal motor housing for 4 little tabs that hold the housing down to the dear asymbely. If they are loose then tighten it all back up and flip the gear.

It should be a little cheaper than 100 bucks. I'm pretty sure they have a 25 dollar core too.
