Default Code P0410 showing up

A few months ago the check engine light came on in my car then went away. It came on again and it was P0410. I checked all the fuses in my car to see if it was the exhaust gas recycle pump fuse that blew but all my fuses show they are still closed when I checked with my meter.

In a 3 month period the check engine light came on and went away about 4 times. Currently the light isn't on, but my fuel economy is a little lower than what it ususally is.

Any ideas?

Doublecheck the AIR PUMP fuse and AIR PUMP RELAY. That code sets when both secondary air banks or pump don't respond. Shouldn't affect your gas mileage.

Ok, thanks, how do I check the relay to see if it is broken?

Look up the P0410 description/diagnostics for your year at gearchatter.com, might find something there even if you don't have a way to command the secondary air on.
