Default Exciter Wire Location

I'm changing my alternator and am trying to locate the exciter wire. Everyone has said that you can disconnect it from the top of the engine bay. I saw the wire that's screwed into the back of the alternator with a big rubber boot on it but I don't think that is it. Any help is appreciated.

it's a plug on the top rear of the alternator.

If you can't get it from the top, don't worry about it.

When you get the 3 bolts out that mount the alt in, you can just tilt it backwards and release that clip very easily. And like I said, don't break it like I did to mine.

Yea, I'm doing everything I can to keep everything intact.
