***alternator/battery problem***

A few days ago my battery died because my alternator died, so i then replaced the alternator but the alternator would not charge the battery so i replaced both the battery and another alternator. after this the battery gage would show that the battery was right at the end of the yellow portion when driving and would jump up and down from there to over 13. after parking it and then taking it for another drive the battery died on the way home. I got the battery checked out at autozone and they said it's a good battery. The belt seems to be tight so I don't know what else could be wrong....any ideas?

Did you break the SMALL exciter wire that plugs into the alternator? I did that taking one out once. The new alternator will not work if its broke or frayed.

how did you go about fixing that? because we did break that skinny little wire but we rewired it to the best of our ability

I used those metal crimper tubes. They're like 2 inches long with the metal inside, you stick the wire ends in each end of the tube and squeeze it with a crimper tool to smash it. I bought the crimper tubes that are also heat shrinkers, you use a lighter to heat them up and thet seal around everything..

Don't solder it. I don't know why but a guy said not to solder those small wires. I know someone who soldered theres and it didn't work.
