Top Overhaul

For car experts here, when do you exactly need to make some a top overhaul of your car? Any signs to watch for to indicate this need? Thanks in advance.

When the paint or convertible top starts to fade.

Actually, if you're getting a cloud of smoke behind your car when you nail the gas pedal from a steady cruising speed, you may need new valve seals in the heads. The intake, well, they pretty much last forever without any treatment. Noisey valve train means trouble.
