Angry Pissed off! Keep blowing headlights!

In the past few months Ive gone through 3 or more headlights . SOMETHING is causing them to blow out prematurely but I havent figured it out. Does anyone know where the ground is and if its a common ground or individual ground? Or any other ideas? Thanks

Is the headlight enclosure cracked or is it not sealing right? Could be water busting them

You could just have a bad fuse dude. My ex had a bad fuse in her Grand Prix and she blew a tail light bulb at least once a month and then started blowing headlights. We took her car up to my parent's shop last week and my dad said "It's a fuse." He checked the fuses, found one was bad, changed it, and she didn't have that rapid firing flicker when she turned her blinker on anymore. Problem solved.

check fuses, grounds, and put some dielectric grease on the plugs and male pieces on the bulbs

This may be simple, but you aren't touching the glass on the bulb when you are installing them, are you? The oils on your finger will transfer, cause hot spots, then cause the bulb to blow.

shouldn't matter if he touches the bulb or not................TA's have the old style headlights where you replace the whole lamp. the bulb is inside, so you can't touch it

Im not sure if its the same side everytime but im pretty sure it varies. As for touching the bulb, its a sealed beam so touching it shouldnt make a difference? And if the fuse was bad the bulb wouldnt be getting any power when I changed it so im kinda lost. Possibly a bad relay or ground? This is driving me nuts I just cant keep spending money on new bulbs

I can check the wiring diagram but it's important to know which bulb you have been replacing-you don't know?

Are they silverstars? If so that's your problem right there they burn so hot the lifetime is not so well between fogs and headlights I burn one every 2-3 months but they look so nice and bright. Google silverstars and burning out

Then I would get a wiring diagram and check the grounds. Me ex's taillights and headlights worked almost fine even though it was a bad fuse. Well...cept after about a month the blinker bulb started flickering super fast when we turned it on.

I have had to replace a bunch of bulbs on mine. I know I have replaced all of the them high and low in the last 6 months. I get the bulbs from Auto Zone, I think they are prob the silverstars.

Fuses can have thier element burn apart and re-weld itself, albiet at a higher resistance causing all sorts of wierd things. Check them. Also check the wires that go from the bulb down into the front by the bumper support, they rub right against it so one may be chafing.

Had the same issues. Posted a thread about it a long time ago. I had a number of issues I found.

1. I changed all the fuses. Some looked like they had a patina(sp?)
2. Replaced the headlight connectors..
3. Cleaned and regreases the connectors for the light harness/motor. This is the number one issue usually. Undo the plug and clean it out really good with electric component cleaner.. It usually will be green inside. GLOB a crapton of grease in there and push it back together firmly and put the pin back in..

This fixed all my problems.. plus I changed both my motors.. I blew probably 2 bulbs a month. Those Xtravision Slyvania bulbs.
