So I start driving my car and everything is fine. When I let off the gas the car starts jerking. To stop the car from jerking I either give it more gas or push in the clutch. Once I do this its fine until I let off again.

This has been going on for about 4 months and its driving me insane. Any input would help. Thanks in advance!!!

 

Is the nengine jerking, as in rpm's going up and down? Or is the entire car itself jerking forwrd and backwards?

Broken trans or motor mount maybe?

 

It is the entire car itself. The RPMs are normal. I had it up once to look at it but I didnt see anything. I will check again. Thanks

 

Does the drive line clunk when you put it in gear or let out the clutch? Put it on level ground, block the wheels so you can crawl under safely with it in neutral. Then grab the drive line and try to turn it back and forth by hand. If you have slop in the motion you could have a bad U joint.

When you put in the clutch it releaves the strain on the driveline. And that would also pertain to a bad motor or trans mount as suggested by LS6427 above. Drivetrain problem.

 

I dont hear a clunk, but I will check that out. That really makes sense. Thanks a lot.

 

doesnt sound like a ujoint.. you would hear a slight clunk and feel it in your seat a tad..
it would be like a rock in the tire.. doesnt go away with more gas, just higher speeds..

you got a cam?

i would check into motor or tranny mounts first..

 

I have a 233/239. Im going to check on the mounts today during my lunch.
