Security light problems

Security light problems I have an annoying problem with my 2001 Camaro SS. On the ICP in the upper right hand corner there is a security indicator. Mine will not shut off!! It is always on, key on engine off or key on engine on. It doesn’t matter. The factory alarm works fine. There is no other aftermarket security device on the vehicle. I plugged in a Tech II and it said that the system is good, no faults. If you can help me and what you say works, YOU ARE A BAD-***!!! Thank you for your time.
do a search for VATS, there is like a million threads on this
it stands for vehicle anti theft system, then the light comes on, basically your car thinks it is being stolen (pretty much)
there are a few causes for it:
worn out key/dirty key
broken wires in ign
the above two will usually cause the car not to start, but pretty often my security light will come on while driving.
another cause is a problem with the BCM.. im not too familiar with those problems.. but im guessing it is your cause
