Default Water pump install

I'm going to install a water pump on my friends 01 SS tomorrow and I was trying to find some write ups, but I had no luck. Can you guys post up a write up and the tools that will be needed?

Very simple. Remove your timing belt, Disconnect all (4) hoses going to the pump with pliers, and its held on by (6) 10mm bolts. Make sure you install new gaskets.

Dam no timing belt.. lol but im sure you mean serpentine belt.

1.Remove belt. 15mm AND DISCONNECT THE BATTERY....
2. Remove lid, base etc. all 10mm bolts.
3. Remove throttle body 10mm bolts .
4. Drain coolant.
5. If you have a throttle body bypass now is the time to remove it and expose the vent tubes if you have it on the right side of the engine.
6. Remove the 10mm bolts in the pump.
7. Might have to remove idler pulley to put in one of the bolts.. mine is a 98. I had to so.. yeah.
8. Clean up block well and I sucked a lot of the old coolant out via a shopvac.
9. Get the metal gaskets and apply RED RTV to both sides and run the bolts through the new pump and align the gasket.
10. Install pump and torque down to first pass to 15 nm then to 30 nm on final pass. I didnt torque mine down. Ive done a **** ton(not so many ls1) and i went by feel lol. MY BAD I WAS TIRED AND BURNED.. LOL
11.Put all the **** back on and once its back together go and mix your coolant... if you do work yourself by a 2 gallon water chicken for coolant... google it.. lol.. LEAVE THE VENT TUBE THROTTLE BODY BYPASS OPEN.
12. Fill with coolant and when its full start car and keep adding till the steam tube shoots coolant out.. not steam.. shut off car and reattach it. Might take a while to get all the air out but turn the heat on full blast while your doing this to help.

Thats kinda it. My 158k miler went out about a month ago and then my friends lt1 went out the next week. Pretty simple
