Replacing AC Idler Pulley

Replacing AC Idler Pulley OK, how do you get this thing off? It's on there good. I have a T45 Torx bit which sort of fits but I am afraid it's going to strip it out before I break it loose. It's not left hand threads is it? I hate the engineer that designed Torx bolts. Any help would be appreciated. This is the idler. I already replaced the tensioner pulley.

It is a T50 Torx that you need. Jack up the passenger side of the car and come in from the bottom and use a cheater bar. I had a friend hold the ratchet straight from above and I used the cheater from below. It is on tight and will snap loose. The treads are normal not backwards.

Well, it's stripped now.
You are right about it being T50 but it would not fit. I'm thinking someone had already tried and screwed the bolt up. Oh well, I'll have to have someone extract it now. Replacing the tensioner pulley curred the noise anyway.

just replaced mine,T50 with snap-on long handle ratchet.i dont know if an extractor will take that out it is quite tight,might have to drill and tap. try and hammer a T50 socket into the head of the bolt and turn it out while holding pressure against the head of the ratchet.
