Default Have questions about some problems.

I have a 99 Camaro Z28.
The problems are that when I'm driving, just normal driving, I can smell coolant, checked coolant level and it's good, the coolant level does not seem to be affected.
Second is that the oil pressure gauge drops a little and "jiggles" when it's idling, as soon as I step on the gas it goes back to the normal oil pressure.
And the last thing I noticed is that when I was driving up a hill, I could smell "burnt oil" as I was driving up, when I got to a guard shack I noticed white smoke, not a lot, coming from the exhaust. Only time this has happened.
All fluid levels are good and drivability is not affected.
Just wondering if anyone had any ideas what it could be?
Maybe it's a sign to get the new Camaro

Oil pressure is supposed to drop at idle. Sometimes they just jiggle a little bit too. Make sure its not low on oil of course and sucking air.

Try getting a new radiator cap, it could be spitting out steam and thats what you could be smelling.

First i would drain the oil, it sounds like you have a leaky head gasket, if the oil seems really thin then most likely that is your problem. If you see the smoke again stick your nose next to the exhaust and see if it smells sweet, if thats the case then you definatly have a head gasket problem.

If its a bad head gasket then it needs to be changed. To do that you need to pull the intake and heads off. Its not too bad but not for your novice mechanic probably especially by yourself.
