Brakes On my 93 cavalier the wheel cylinder is bad. The nut that holds the brake line to the back of the cylinder Is rusted. I tried turning it with a 12mm wrench that just rounded the edges of the nut. I tried a needle nose vice grip and it doesn't appear to be going anywhere. Does anyone have any advice?
Is the nut completely rounded? If not tap a six point shallow socket on the bolt that fits tight and try that. You say the wheel cylinder is bad so you could grind the head off and drill the bolt out if it wont come out since you will obviously be replacing the caliper.

Would the flare wrench fit if it's rounded? I'll try one today. Thanks
If you already rounded the nut, there is no wrench that will grip it.
Heat the nut red hot with a torch, and if you're lucky, you will be able to turn the nut with your needle nose vise grip without twisting off the brake line.

Maybe you can pull the wheel cylinder out with the brake line? Heat would be the best optioin. Then use vise grips, don't heat the brake line just the nut you might melt the line. If it is totaly ruined pick up a piece of shielded brake line for 5 bucks and bend up a new one.
