Default A/C leaking freon

Well, its green, and its been leaking for a long time. I'm not really sure where it was leaking from, but it will kill a can of freon in a few days. It's more annoying than anything, and I've been debating on just yanking the whole A/C system off or fixing this situation. Is this a simple o-ring that I can replace, or is it compressor/orafice tube/drier time?

Hard to tell, fill it with a can of R134a w/leak dye and look with a black light or pony up and pay a mechanic with a sniffer tool...

Is it ever possible to just repair a leak? I worked at Advance for about 8 years, and I sold countless compressors, but never really gave any thought to repairing one.
