Default O2 problem

My front driver side o2 sensor went bad. So i went to my local national auto parts and bought a new one. get home, pull the old one, go to put the new one in, and the plug does not fit. the old one, the slit in the middle is fully across. and the new one, the slit is only in half of the plug.

I went back to the store, thinking i got the wrong sensor, we looked at abunch more and all the front ones are like that. The car does have o2 extensions cause it came with headers when i bought it. why is the sensor plug different though?

these are the ones i purchased and what look like normal ls1 o2 sensors.

these are the ones that were pulled off my car, i basically edited the pic of the above to show. the gap thats above partial is across the whole sensor. and the new ones wont fit.

Very odd the plugs are different. Maybe someone use LT1 plugs and wires and spliced them into the wiring harness.
