Any ideas on what this could be?
Any ideas on what this could be? ok my car has 133k miles on it, and it started a ticking sound, though it was possibly a collapsed lifter, its been doing it for about 3 weeks or so now, but today i was leaving my friends house about a mile away and it started shaking the ses light was flashing at me and it was idling rough as I was pulling up to the stop sign and i could feel it trying to die on me on my street and i got it into my garage and turned it off, turned it back on and now its shooting out blue and white smoke, and now the ticking is gone. so anyone have any ideas?
Just a guess, maybe the ticking was a plug wire arcing and now the wire went dead completely, causing the misfire. Maybe the smoke is a result of that cylinder not firing.
Another Idea is maybe the ticking was a lifter or rocker arm going out and it finally went completely. Check your plugs, wires, pull the valve covers and check for damage.

we actually tried that, everything looked fine, then a couple days later it all went, so i ordered a new block with rolling assembly so im just going to go that route since the mileage on it already, and the trans had been rebuild about a year ago
