leaks leaks well I was going to change the oil pan gasket..i was wondering if there was any torque specs for the nuts ..also if there is a writwup somewhere would be nice ....also would love to know any other common places for LS1 to leak maybe I can take care of all them
You know what I did 7 years after my 427ci went in......I was just doing an oil change about a year ago and noticed a little oil residue around a few areas. Couldn't find where it was coming from. It was the first leak of any kind I ever saw in 7 years.
I just tightened every bolt I could reach. All the oil pan bolts, and some of them actually turned a bit. A few others around different parts also turned a little bit. Then I cleaned everything with brake cleaner spray cans till it looked like new. 1 year later and its still sparkling clean, not a drop anywhere.
Just tighten everything. Oil pan bolts are 18 ft. lbs. I just tightened everything I saw till I felt they were good.
