Default Alternator problems

Need help,I'm trying to find out why my brothers car is not charging right.Alternator has been tested and is ok.Alt pigtail connector I think seems to be the issue.My question is how many volts am I looking to come out of the pigtail wire on the connector?Ive tried fix the connector,but still not charging.Its a 98 z28.Thanks

You mean the wire that plugs into the top of the alternator? The excitor wire.

Maybe try a new plug and wire, splice it in. ebay...$10.00

Yep,We will eventually replace the connector,but just wanted to know what voltage is coming out the connector.

That is supposed to tell the alternator when to charge. It's not supposed to be supplying power.
