Buring oil...
Buring oil... Basically within 3,500 miles my 02 T/a has burned about 1-2 quarts of oil. It has to be burning it because i would notice a quart or two of oil in the driveway. So tips on the problem or ways to diagnose/ fix?
it's suppose to burn enough to make me lose oil pressure or have the low oil light come on? it hasn't been burning this much before. First time low oil light came on, 2nd time (2 days ago) i lost oil pressure, which returned to normal and haven't had a problem since more oil was added.
Low oil light should come on way before you lose pressure.
If the consumption has gone up recently, something may have changed. I find oil consumption is higher if you get into it more often.
On these engines, I would check oil every second tankful. It's inconvenient, but it could save you a ton of dough.
