Default EVAP system is jacked, help

I searched and got over whelmed with the amount of info. Basically the engine code is P0446- EVAP Purge Solenoid, so I replaced the purge solenoid because it was plugged in when the code was thrown. Also I have not changed anything to the car for months so this problem happened on its own. The same code still throws, so what do I check next?
Thanks

when you say it was plugged in when the code came, does that mean you run it unplugged? is it a ciurcut malfunction code? or just a soleniod malfunction? where did you buy the soloniod? it may be defective...
